Injured workers may be entitled to mileage reimbursement if traveling to and from medical appointments for their workers’ compensation injuries. It is important to keep track of the number of miles to and from these medical appointments. It is also important to keep track of the doctor and clinic you are traveling to and from.
The law now requires that your mileage MUST be submitted 120 days after it is incurred and the carrier must pay the mileage within 30 days.
The bill has not yet been signed, but is expected to be signed and go into effect on September 6, 2021.
You may be entitled to these benefits. So, make sure you regularly and accurately record your mileage and submit it timely as set forth in the statute!
